Roses, Rest, and Real-Life Moments

Despite a few setbacks, this weekend turned out to be exactly what I needed—a reminder that love, support, and even small joys can make the biggest difference.

Friday’s PT session was intense. It pushed me to my limit physically, and I felt the effects all weekend. The dry needling hit all the wrong areas but I was determined not to let that stop me from doing something meaningful. On Saturday, I had the chance to attend a play featuring two of my former students, Tammy (Dorothy) and Abby. Watching them shine on stage was incredible. Their talent, passion, and hard work made me proud beyond words. I may have teared up (okay, I definitely did).

Sunday was all about balance. I let myself sleep in—and wow, did I need that. Even though most of the day was spent on the couch, I still felt like I’d accomplished something: I rested.

While I read a book and recharged, Kevin and Kira worked on some household projects (they’re amazing). We wrapped up the weekend with a delicious meal and even managed to squeeze in some anime time—a cozy little tradition that always makes my heart happy.

And just when I thought the day couldn’t get better, I was surprised with the sweetest gifts:
💛 Yellow roses that brightened up the room
🎁 Snoopy & Charlie Brown Funko Pop figures that made me smile like a kid

💛 Weekend Takeaways:

  • Rest is productive

  • Love shows up in the smallest gestures

  • Watching someone you’ve mentored succeed is its own kind of healing

  • Anime and family dinners are highly underrated medicine

  • Also, I think Snoopy might be my spirit animal

Here’s to finding joy in the little things—even on the hard days.
Because sometimes, all it takes is flowers, Funko figures, and a full heart.
