Google Said It’s Dinner Time (So the Cats Listened)

Every day at 6:00 p.m. sharp, I try to feed the cats. Not because they demand a strict feeding schedule (they do), but because that’s officially the end of my workday. It’s the final reminder from my Google Hub, which spends the entire day gently nudging me like a digital life coach:

  • “Time for a break!”

  • “Drink some water.”

  • “Go for a walk!”

  • “Eat lunch, maybe?”

  • “Wrap it up, friend.”

Is it overkill?
Absolutely not.
You see, I’m a workaholic—and my boss literally told me to set boundaries. So, I did.
Enter: Google Assistant, productivity gatekeeper and feline meal-time announcer.

Today, just as Google cheerfully announced it was time to “get ready for dinner,” the house transformed.

Suddenly, three fur-covered missiles launched themselves toward the kitchen:

  • Milo, ever the gentleman, sat perfectly at his bowl. Waiting. Watching. Poised for snacks.

  • Tink made a beeline to her designated dining spot, ready to devour.

  • Mari, on the other hand... went wherever food happened to appear first. Doesn’t matter whose bowl. If there’s kibble, she’s there.

Eventually, Mari gets lovingly relocated to her bowl, where she gobbles up dinner with the enthusiasm of a food critic at a buffet—then lurks nearby waiting for someone else to leave a single morsel behind. Because obviously, she’s a growing girl and deserves “big kid food.”

It’s chaos. It’s routine. It’s weirdly adorable.
And it all starts with Google saying one sentence.
